Optimal Ergonomics: Part 2
Video Transcript
All right, we’re going to review the ergonomics of sitting. Notice how Sarah has her feet on a stool. This helps connect her feet back to the ground, and by extension, to the rest of her spine. Therefore, having a stool is critical. You’ll see that Sarah is sitting upright, positioned in the middle section of the seat.
This stool is adjustable, allowing you to sit slightly on the edge, which helps maintain an upright posture. Her hands are at belly button level when using the keyboard. Her hand rests comfortably on the mouse, and her eyes are looking straight ahead at the screen.
Even though you are sitting, remind yourself to stand up every 20 or 30 minutes. Sitting for hours on end can put a lot of stress on your body, and it’s hard to counteract that with just an hour at the gym. So, consider using a stool for your feet and a comfortable chair for your back as essential.
Thank you.
